Summer Camp 2013!

The Discovery Learning Center is offering two week-long camps this year. Because we are asking for some parent participation, we are able to keep the cost low. All proceeds go to the DLC—this is summer camp, homeschool-style!

Camp USA - FULL
Leaders: Heddi, Suki, and Heather
Description: Learn about the regions of the United States using all of your senses. Each day we will focus on one region and learn some of the history and geography, then we will listen to folk tales and sing songs that bring the region alive. Games and crafts will round out the day.

Ages: 5 - 12 (children will be separated into two age groups for some activities)
Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m
Dates: July 8 - July 12, 2013

Making Sense of the World - Still Available! Sign up now!
Leaders: Melody, Vaiva, and Heather
Description: In the mornings, we will talk about what a religion is and learn about many of the major world religions including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. We will read stories, discuss ideas and create mini books for a world religions lap book. In the afternoons, we will explore how observations of the natural world gave rise to the Theory of Evolution and do activities to explore the scientific method, taxonomy, and natural selection.

Ages: 8 and up
Times: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m
Dates: July 15 - July 19, 2013

Parent Participation:
On the registration form, we ask you to note the day(s) you would be available to help at camp.  We will assign each parent one of the five days of camp to be a helper.  On the other four days, you are not obligated to stay.  We will send a schedule for parent helpers prior to the start of camp.
